Good News
The music pages have had a number of improvements:
- The main music page was updated to include a new look with new background colours and a new banner.
- The album list has some nice new backgrounds that sit behind their sections.
- The “Check out the music I’ve made” section which featured a YouTube embed of one of my songs has been removed from the main page (it took up way too much space and made it hard to navigate, though, I may rework it and bring it back at some point).
- The single tracks page was cleaned up and should be easier to navigate.
The home page now has a new banner, the title “The FenX Azin Website” has a new subtext that reads “Home of RAIACAD0564, FenX Azin Music, and XXXServe.”
Now, the bad news?
This may not be such bad news, it depends on how you feel about it. Since I updated WordPress I’ve been having many performance issues. I’m still trying to figure out why the web-server is reaching 100% CPU usage, but while I was pondering this, I noticed something else. The website is nearly 3GB large, so I’ve deleted some files to try to solve the website’s problems. But one of the things I’ve done is removed the option to download my music as FLAC since the files are huge. MP3 downloads are still available, but why I mention this is because I want to know if anyone actually wants FLAC files. If you do want me to bring them back, I may have to host them on a separate website like Mediafire or MEGA. If you don’t mind this and you really want FLAC files, I could try and do this. I have put a poll on this page, please vote on whether you need FLAC files or not and based off of the results, I will decide what to do.
Other minor updates
- New website logo.
- ReCAPTHCA added to the contact form.
- I’ve attempted to make some performance improvements. These might not have any effect at the moment because of the recent CPU usage problem I mentioned.
Update October 12th 2019: The vote has been closed. Based off of the results FLAC files won’t be coming back.
