Wow, it’s almost been four years since the last release note, quite a fair bit has changed since then.
Highlights
Lots of updates to the “Social Accounts” page
I’ve seen a lot of people using things like Linktree and Carrd to make links that lead to all of their social media accounts. I thought since I already own my own domain and website that I would just build my own social links hub, so that’s what I did. This is going to be a pretty big landing page for a lot of people so I’ve definitely taken a big focus on this particular page over everything else.
Social Accounts page updates (as far as I can remember)
- All accounts should be added
- Instagram accounts re-added
- Furry (Anthringe) accounts added (2023)
- All corrosponding icons should be added for each site
- Menu on the top bar of the site also has links to some relevant social accounts
- If any links were broken they should be fixed now
- “fenxazin.com/soc” is a new redirect link to this page that I can use on images where people have to manually type this link out
- Inactive/archived social accounts moved to their own page, linked on main social accounts page
Farewell Instagram Page may be Removed
I have mostly returned to Instagram following some relevant events including 7909’s retirement and the fact I just couldn’t find any better alternative platforms to post my photography to. This page still exists but is no longer linked to from any other site and is kinda redundant.
Fixes and Performance Improvements
In preparation for more visitors due to new purpose of the social accounts page, I’ve tried a few things to make the site a bit faster.
- Text compression finally enabled! (This is the biggest change)
- Some old unessecary plugins removed
- Some images changed and most images should now be in WebP and better compressed, especially lossless images. Might be upgraded to AVIF/JXL depending on support uptake for these formats
- Broken links, especially ones on the bottom bar should be fixed now
- Made the image size slightly bigger for the site logo, still having some trouble since if I make it too high res it displays too large for my liking. It at least shouldn’t be visibly pixelated anymore though unless you’re looking for it
Changes to Music Pages
“Wanna listen to some tunes?”
- Banner updated and resized
- Single track: FenX Azin Music – Running From The System (Graduation Remix) Added (2020)
- Single track: XXXServe – Too Much Work To Be Done added (2021)
- One of the Kind officially updated to “canceled” (More on that later) (2023 update)
Changes to the Homepage
- SOME Images updated and compressed to WebP
- Posts and updates section should be fixed
- Header text updated to “Home of RAIACAD0564, Anthringe, and FenX Azin Music”
So that’s all I have for now, I’m sure you have questions about why some things were removed, some music albums and projects cancelled, and XXXServe given less focus on the site. I will be slowly making announcements about those in the future. Right now, my website priorities are updating the homepage info, updating the history page, finishing work on that big project where the /sro link will lead eventually, and continuing maintenance on the social accounts page.
I would continue to go on about all of my ideas here, but as I like to be thorough with things, I’d be putting so much work into this that this long overdue update would take even longer. So with that, take care.
